Physician Award For Community Voluntary Service

Created in 1992, the Physician Award for Voluntary Community Service recognizes physicians who have donated their time and expertise to their local communities. Previous winners include Deborah Baceski, MD, of Somerset and Marc Schneiderman, MD, of Coraopolis. Dr. Baceski established the Free Clinic of Somerset County (Somerset Community Clinic) in 2005. Dr. Schneiderman was recognized for his participation in several volunteer projects, including work on a community access television program designed to educate viewers on health issues.

Please note that the Physician Award for International Voluntary Service is a separate award that is presented in even-ending years. Nominations are not being accepted at this time for international volunteer service.

PAMED Everyday Hero Award

everydayhero12_21 Do you know a Pennsylvania physician who goes above and beyond in helping patients? Probably, these physicians likely would say “I’m just doing my job,” but as a colleague or a patient, you see things differently? If so, the Pennsylvania Medical Society encourages you to nominate one or more physicians to be our next PAMED Everyday Hero.
