Organ & Tissue Donation and Recovery Process

As a result of PA Act 90 of 2018, also known as the Donate Life PA Act, effective May 1, 2026, Pennsylvania physicians must complete at least 2 hours of CME in organ and tissue donation and the recovery process.

  • Initially licensed on or after May 1, 2026: Complete the requirement within 5 years of initial licensure.
  • Reactivating an expired or inactive license on or after May 1, 2026: Complete the requirement one time within 5 years of reactivation.
