La Crosse Virus Disease in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania has reported the first case of LACV, a mosquito-borne disease, in a patient from Crawford County which borders Ohio where LACV is endemic. Health care providers should have a heightened clinical suspicion for LACV infection in persons with clinically compatible symptoms (similar to West Nile, Jamestown Canyon and Powassan virus).
