If you are licensed by the Board of Osteopathic Medicine (Board), you must renew your license by Saturday, October 31, 2026, to maintain active licensure. Waiting until October 31 to renew is not recommended, as the Board is closed on weekends. If you encounter an issue with the Pennsylvania Licensing System (PALS) on Saturday, you will need to wait until Monday to contact the Board.
If you have multiple licenses issued by the Board, you will need to complete separate renewal applications for each license type. If you fail to renew on time, there is no grace period, and your license status will show as “expired” on November 1. If your license expires, the only way to return it to active status is to submit a reactivation application. To reactivate an expired license, you must complete a reactivation application and provide proof of completion of all required CME, a current Curriculum Vitae (CV), a self-query report from the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), and any other information requested by the Board. In some cases, the Board may even require a physical and mental fitness assessment.
To avoid the additional time and requirements associated with reactivation, renew your license before it expires. As a Pennsylvania Medical Society member, you have access to resources to help guide you through the renewal process.
Do not let your license lapse. Log in to the Pennsylvania Licensing System — www.pals.pa.gov — and renew now!
