The Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) encourages Pennsylvania physicians to participate in a new federal Request for Information (RFI) concerning vaccine recommendations and shared clinical decision-making.

On August 21, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced that it is seeking public input on the categories used in federal vaccine recommendations and the role of shared clinical decision-making. HHS states that the RFI advances the President's Executive Order, Delivering Gold Standard Childhood Vaccine Recommendations for Americans, and will inform the work of the federal Task Force on Safer Childhood Vaccines.

PAMED encourages physicians to review the RFI and submit comments grounded in clinical experience, scientific evidence, established standards of care, and the extensive body of research supporting vaccine safety and effectiveness.
