The Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) is proud to announce a new partnership with Saint Joseph’s University (SJU). The agreement is twofold –

• 20% Tuition Discount - Eligible PAMED employees and physician members across Pennsylvania will earn discounts on doctoral and graduate-level degree programs

• Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credits - Physicians enrolled in the Healthcare Executive MBA program from Saint Joseph’s Haub School of Business are eligible to earn CME credits through PAMED.

The discount offers an affordable way to pursue a range of graduate and certificate programs and is available to both new and returning students. Programs covered under the partnership include Haub’s top-ranked MBA; master’s degrees in analytics, biochemistry, health informatics and health administration; and doctoral programs in business, education, pharmacology and toxicology and pharmaceutics.

Saint Joseph’s Healthcare Executive MBA is a distinctive, AACSB-accredited program designed specifically for practicing physicians. Structured to accommodate the demands of a medical practice, the program is also approved by PAMED for CME credits.

“My SJU education has better positioned me to help our fellow physicians thrive in the next era of health care,” said Dr. John Pagan, MD, MBA, FACS, president of the Bucks County Medical Society and CEO of the PA Clinical Network. “Years of practice in private and hospital settings taught me that administrators, despite their best intentions, often lack firsthand understanding of patient care. But as physicians, we can bridge that gap—learning the business of medicine to shape and lead better health care.”

“SJU offered a unique physician cohort MBA with reasonable tuition and convenient scheduling that shared in the Jesuit experience that I valued in my undergraduate education,” said Dr. Pagan.

A new cohort for the Healthcare Executive MBA is targeted to begin in January 2026.

Through this partnership, both institutions affirm their shared commitment to expanding access to continuing education. Alongside the tuition discount, PAMED provides a wide range of academic and professional development resources designed to support employee and physician member success.

About Saint Joseph’s University

Founded in 1851 as Philadelphia’s Jesuit university, Saint Joseph’s University prepares students for a rapidly changing world by focusing on academic excellence and courageous exploration. With an intellectual tradition distinguished by a foundational liberal arts core and diversified by strong professional programs in business, nursing, health and science, and education, Saint Joseph’s students are empowered, challenged and supported by high-quality faculty members to follow their own path. As a comprehensive university with locations in Philadelphia and Lancaster, Pennsylvania, undergraduate and graduate students study in the University’s five schools and colleges — the College of Arts and Sciences, the Erivan K. Haub School of Business, the School of Education and Human Development, the School of Health Professions and the School of Nursing and Allied Health. With academic offerings in the most sought-after majors, including leading programs in the first-in-the-nation Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, a Saint Joseph’s education is enriched through the University’s network of cooperative education employers, clinical placements and professional internships. Outside of the classroom, the University’s Division I student-athletes compete at the highest levels in 21 different sports. Upon graduation, nearly 100% of students are employed, pursuing advanced degrees or volunteering in prestigious service programs. The University’s network of more than 110,000 proud alumni keep alive the rallying cry — The Hawk Will Never Die.
