Independent Regulatory Review Commission Notice of Filing of Final Rulemakings-16A-5146 State Board of Nursing Opioid Prescription and Education and Organ Donation Education

The Independent Regulatory Review Commission (IRRC) received regulation 16A-5146 State Board of Nursing Opioid Prescription and Education and Organ Donation Education. This regulation updates certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP) continuing education to include requirements for pain management, identification of addiction, and prescribing/dispensing of opioids. This regulation also updates current CRNP prescription requirements for controlled substances, and adds organ/tissue donation and recovery process education to continuing education requirements for registered nurses (RNs), RN Volunteer Licensees, and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
