    PAMED Monitors Bill on PBM and Pharmacy Reform
    Another legislative item that was discussed during this summer legislative session was Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBMs) and potential pharmacy reforms. PAMED has been monitoring House Bill 1993 which amends the Pharmacy Audit Integrity and Transparency Act to further regulate Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) activities.

    Department of Human Services Changes to Supplemental Payments to Qualifying Hospitals
    The Department of Human Services (Department) announced its intent to allocate funding for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-2024 for supplemental payments for certain acute care general hospitals that provide a high volume of services to Medical Assistance (MA) eligible and low-income populations in nonrural medically underserved areas at 53 Pa.B. 8003 (December 23, 2023).
