Trustees spent time caucusing 2026 House Business to review and discuss resolutions with Board implications. From reviewing Reference Committee recommendations on Board Reports to reviewing items with a recommendation for referral, the Trustees are poised to listen to the House and execute any requested studies or directives. Additionally, the Board looks forward to meeting with PAMED members at the House of Delegates, and specifically are eager to meet participants at the Town Hall Lunch on Friday, October 23 at 11:30 a.m. and the Meet Your Trustees Social later that evening at 7:00 p.m.
The board approved Benjamin ("Ben") Post, Esq. of Post & Post as the PAMED Distinguished Partner in Medicine Award for his extraordinary advocacy, leadership, and unwavering commitment to Pennsylvania physicians throughout a distinguished legal career spanning more than four decades. Most recently, his efforts during the Prospect Medical Holdings and Crozer Health bankruptcy crisis exemplified exceptional service to the medical profession and a profound commitment to protecting physicians during an unprecedented period of uncertainty.
The Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) Distinguished Partner in Medicine Award, established by the PAMED Board of Trustees in 2026, recognizes an individual who is not a physician and who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving as a champion, advocate, and partner for physicians and the medical profession. The award honors individuals whose leadership, service, advocacy, or contributions have meaningfully supported physicians, strengthened the practice of medicine, and advanced PAMED’s mission on behalf of Pennsylvania’s physician community.
