PAMED Celebrates Healthcare Continuing Education Professionals Day™

The Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) is pleased to recognize Healthcare Continuing Education Professionals Day™ on Friday, January 23, 2026. This day honors the professionals who ensure physicians and healthcare teams remain informed, competent, and equipped to deliver high quality patient care. These continuing education experts play a vital role in advancing healthcare by promoting lifelong learning and professional development.

PAMED’s CME programs and services are supported by our CME Advisory Panel, a group of physicians and educational consultants who volunteer their time and guidance throughout the year to help ensure the continued success of our CME operations. We are extremely grateful for their dedication and commitment to continuing education for physicians and healthcare teams.

Highlights for 2025:

  • We improved efficiency and launched collaborative education initiatives supporting providers and clinical staff, integrated MOC for five specialty boards, and helped fulfill licensure requirements. The CME team also completed and presented its first of several research projects!
 
 

Tower Health, Reading, PA

  • Over 1600 Activities accredited year to date with over 25,000 total attendees (over 3100 unique attendees). 
  • Number of Activities Offering MOC - 380
    • Total ABS Points awarded - 911.50
    • Total ABA Points awarded - 90.00
    • Total ABTS Points awarded - 81.00
    • Total ABIM Points awarded - 356.00
    • Total ABP Points awarded - 253.00
  • Hosted a national conference on Cultivating Research Integrity: Essentials for Transitioning from a Community Hospital into an Academic Medical Center after being awarded a grant from the Office of Research Integrity, Health and Human Services to plan and implement an educational activity addressing research conduct and integrity topics such as Data Management & Sharing, Responsible Authorship & Publication, Research Misconduct & Integrity, Conflicts of Interest (COI), Human Subjects & Animal Welfare, and Mentoring & Peer Review. 

 

Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, PA

Penn Highlands Healthcare, Dubois, PA

Highlights for 2025 CME Program:

  • Created an electronic evaluation process to collect outcome data
  • Strengthening our System Committee Membership with representation from all regions and various departments to represent our System Goals  
  • Developed educational topics consistent with strategic initiatives and needs of the medical staff, utilizing the results of our evaluations to drive topics.
  • Incorporated education on the ACCME regulations and robust program development of the CME team members at our committee meetings
  • Adopted policies to align with ACCME accreditation standards and system strategic initiatives
  • Applied for the Mentor Program (as Mentee), to improve the overall quality and engagement of our CME committee 

The Guthrie Clinic, Sayre, PA
