PAMED has been informed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) that a provider has had their medical license revoked, which means the provider is currently not able to practice as a Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry in the Commonwealth.
Most patients impacted by this event were receiving stimulants and benzodiazepines and will likely come from Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. Patients impacted by this event may be seeking resources to re-establish care, specifically for the treatment of mental health conditions and conditions managed by stimulants.
Patients treated long-term with benzodiazepines and/or stimulants may be physically dependent on their medicine which means they are at risk of severe medication withdrawal, including psychological distress and/or medical emergency, if care is not quickly re-established.
If you have practice in the above counties, you may receive an increase in calls or visits from patients because of this incident.
