CDC Expands Access to RSV Shot

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsed recommendations made this in April by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to expand access to respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccination, as well as to add a new option for meningococcal vaccination.

The ACIP recommends adults 50-59 who are at an increased risk of severe RSV receive a single does of RSV vaccine. Those who has already received RSV vaccination are not recommended to receive another dose. 

The ACIP also recommends that GSK's MenABCWY vaccine may be used when both MenACWY and MenB are indicated at the same visit.
