Thanks for your question Dr. Share,

If you answer no to the question regarding medical professional liability insurance, you will be required to upload an explanatory document. This document must explain why you meet one the exemptions to the insurance requirement. If you meet one of the following conditions, you would be eligible for an exemption to meeting the professional liability insurance requirement.

    · Practice medicine outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania only

    · Employed by the Federal government/Veteran’s Administration Hospital

    · Perform pathology work only

    · Perform administrative work only/DO NOT treat patients or actively practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

    · License is on an active-retired status

You can also access PALS help online by visiting the PALS help page and clicking on the "Create New Ticket" box: https://www.pals.pa.gov/#/page/AnonymousSupportTicket

I am being asked to upload a reason why I do not have malpractice insurance in PA....the reason is because I do not currently practice in PA.  How does one address this?  I don't see anything on the website to upload and appropriately answer this.  Suggestions?

I have taken the Child abuse CME module, for two hours and have my certificate, I cannot find out how to get it attached to my Active Retired Medical license renewal.

I have retired 9/1 but would like to renew my license so I can prescribe non narcotics for family members and in case I decided to do locums. I don't see why I would need liability insurance for this since if I do locums company would pay for liability. Is this correct. I am willing to pay extra for renewal.
