Acting Secretary of Health Alison Beam Issues First Amendment to Order Regarding Vaccine Providers

Last Updated: Mar 16, 2021

On March 15, 2021, Acting Secretary of Health Alison Beam issued an amendment to her February 12, 2021 order. The March 15 order supplements the Feb. 12 order and took effect on March 16, 2021. Read the press release here.

This order will in essence require providers who have received first dose allocation vaccines in at least the past two weeks prior to March 16, 2021, to make every effort to schedule appointments for eligible individuals in Phase 1A who request an appointment, including individuals not in the providers’ current patient networks.

By March 31, 2021, a vaccine provider who has received first dose allocations of the vaccine for at least the two previous weeks prior to March 16, 2021, will be required to contact by phone or e-mail every individual for whom it has contact information and offer that individual an appointment.

In addition, a vaccine provider must schedule appointments as far into the future as necessary to accommodate all Phase 1A individuals requesting appointments. Providers should anticipate receiving similar allocations to that received in the two previous weeks prior to March 16, 2021.
