Experience the Poverty Simulator from Quality Insights:
The Community Action Poverty Simulator (CAPS) is designed to give participants a firsthand experience of the challenges and limitations faced by individuals living in poverty.
- CAPS is a tool that helps break down stereotypes and misconceptions, encouraging a more compassionate and informed perspective on poverty.
- During the simulation, participants take on the identity of a person experiencing poverty and work together with a “family” of participants to live a simulated month in poverty.
- After the simulation, participants will debrief as a group to discuss daily struggles and difficult decisions faced by individuals living in poverty.
