At its February 3, 2021 meeting, the Board of Trustees discussed the need for changes to the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) process. This discussion was prompted by a request from the Pennsylvania Neurological Society that was presented to the Specialty Leadership Cabinet. After extensive conversation, the Board voted for PAMED to make a public statement in opposition to the time element to the longitudinal assessment requirement of the ABIM MOC process. As a result of the Board’s action, PAMED sent a letter to ABIM.
