This 60-minute educational session will explore the care team’s role in supporting patients living with and recovering from substance use disorder (SUD). As opioid overdose-related death rates continue to rise in Pennsylvania, it is more important than ever to ensure all staff members have the tools and training to support evidence-based care for SUD. This session will review a variety of tools that are available to care teams to screen and identify patients living with SUD, how stigma impacts care of patients with SUD, motivational interviewing techniques, community resources for patients, and how to support patients living in recovery.
