Candidates who wish to run from the floor may announce their candidacy at the House Opening Session (virtual) on September 19, 2026.

This required business session opens the 2026 House of Delegates. Business will include: approving the 2026 Standing Rules, accepting nominations from the floor, and accepting the 2026 House Business.

Candidates running from the floor must submit their information by 4:00 P.M. EST

Candidates who wish to submit a campaign piece to be distributed by the HOD office to the House must submit by 4:00 P.M. EST (details in Elections Guidelines).

The Elections page is updated today with candidate information, including any candidates running from the floor.

Reference Committee Reports will be posted on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

All House members will receive voluntary submissions from any candidates who submitted campaign materials today.
