CME Consult - Earn Patient Safety and Risk Management CME

CME Consult, our annual publication, helps physicians earn patient safety and risk management CME needed to renew their medical license.

Both MDs and DOs are required to earn 12 credit hours in the areas of patient safety or risk management (either Category 1 or Category 2). Each issue of CME Consult offers 6 credit hours and includes articles, case studies, and other tools you can use in your daily practice.

CME Consult 2023

This Compendium of Patient Safety & Risk Management Strategies includes articles on understanding your exposure to liability, reducing liability risks, and incorporating strategies for increasing patient safety when working with advance practice professionals or medical assistants; managing disruptive patient behavior; addressing workplace bullying; minimizing duplicate medication order errors; implementing peer support programs; and assessing equipment, supplies, and devices for patient safety issues. Also includes supplemental resources, assessment tools, and practice questions to help reinforce your learning.

CME Credit: The Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. PAMED designates this enduring material for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 credits™. Physicians should claim credit commensurate with their participation in the activity.

MOC Option for CME Consult 2023

Three (3) MOC credits are available for diplomates of ABIM, ABPath, or ABP certified physicians who utilize the online version of the course to complete the quiz/evaluation and provide the requested Board identification information. By completing the MOC version of CME Consult, you are giving PAMED permission to share your course completion and diplomate information with your Board via the ACCME’s Provider Activity Reporting System (PARS).

American Board of Internal Medicine
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 3 MOC points and patient safety MOC credit in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

American Board of Pathology
This activity has been registered to offer credit in the American Board of Pathology’s Continuing Certification program enabling participants to earn up to 3 Lifelong Learning (CME) credits. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of recognizing participation.

American Board of Pediatrics
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 3 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. This activity offers up to 6 CME credits, of which 3 credits contribute the patient safety CME component of the American Board of Anesthesiology’s redesigned Maintenance of Certification in AnesthesiologyTM (MOCA®️) program, known as MOCA 2.0®️. Please consult the ABA website, www.theABA.org, for a list of all MOCA 2.0 requirements.

American Board of Internal Medicine
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 3 MOC points and patient safety MOC credit in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn their required annual part II self-assessment credit in the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery’s Continuing Certification program (formerly known as MOCA®️). It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of recognizing participation.

American Board of Surgery
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME and Self-Assessment requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.
