Greetings and happy Spring from your Speakers!  Here are a few updates for the 2026 PAMED All-Member Annual Meeting and House of Delegates.

General Updates

While our September and October HOD Business Sessions may seem far away, a lot is already taking place behind the scenes.  Our Bylaws Committee is hard at work on several important Bylaws updates.  Our Rules and Credentials Committee is diligently working on our Standing Rules for 2026 and beyond (including transitioning to the 2023 version of our parliamentary authority - The Standard Code).  Lastly, PAMED’s newly-formed Annual Meeting Advisory Task Force has taken up the charge - assessing CME, networking and social opportunities - as we continue to expand our October weekend in Hershey to maximize benefits for both HOD attendees and all of our PAMED members.  Please do feel free to reach out to your Speakers or Board Chairs with any feedback you wish to share.  As always, your Speakers thank all of our volunteers for the great work they do.  Without them, we would NOT be the great state medical society that we are!

Resolutions and Resources for 2026

The Resolution Portal is open and accepting resolutions.  New for 2026 are additional resources and assistance to facilitate the resolution-writing process.  Visit the 2026 Resolutions Information section of the HOD website – here you can find:  additional tips on Resolution writing, information on submitting Resolutions and the process, as well as a recorded presentation from the Speakers.

The Speakers and PAMED staff will also be attending several Section meetings to share ideas about best-practices for Resolution writing.  Please let PAMED staff know how we can help schedule these opportunities.  Caucuses are also encouraged to schedule time with your members to brainstorm resolutions – that is how a good idea becomes a great idea!

As a reminder, the deadline for Bylaws Amendments is June 17^th and the deadline for Resolution submissions is July 1^st.

Elections

Interested in running for a PAMED office or position?  Visit the Election page of the HOD website for resources and information. The deadline for candidates to be listed in the Official Call is July 1^st.   Candidates wishing to run from the floor (after the July 1^st deadline) will have an opportunity to do so during the HOD Opening Business session on Saturday, September 19^th.

New in 2026, there will be a Candidate Forum during the October All-Member meeting (in Hershey) to allow PAMED members and candidates to get to know one another. Stay tuned for additional details about this exciting event!

Delegates and Alternates

Interested in serving as a Delegate or Alternate in the PAMED House of Delegates (HOD)?  Contact your County, Specialty or Section leadership to navigate the process.

No formal Delegation from your County or Specialty?  Use this form to indicate your interest in serving.

Delegation rosters must be submitted by leadership by July 15^th.  Your Speakers encourage all Counties, Specialties and Sections to identify your Delegates and Alternates early, to give them ample time to prepare for the HOD Business Sessions (September 19^th and October 24^th and 25^th).
