SUGGESTED RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES

RECOMMENDATION:

The Board of Trustees recommends that Resolution 25-214, Patients are Humans, Too – Promoting Humanism and Empathy in Medicine be amended as follows: 

RESOLVED, that the Pennsylvania Medical Society advocate for encourage the incorporation of bedside experiences and simulated patient encounters focused on skills to develop empathy in medicine empathetic education with role models and patient stories in the curriculum of all medical schools and patient-facing residency programs in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to emotionally strengthen the patient-provider physician relationship.
