Prescription opioid medications serve an effective role in pain management, but growing abuse of these drugs has reached epidemic proportions in Pennsylvania and nationwide.

Empowering your local constituents through education is a key to addressing the addiction crisis and epidemic of overdoses 
affecting your district, Pennsylvania, and the nation.

The good news is that increasing awareness of this health epidemic is starting to show results. Total prescriptions written for opioids have decreased in Pennsylvania and across the nation for two straight years.
