From PAMED’s Legal Department  – Dr. Uber, When a system buys another hospital, the terms of sale often include a provision whether the contracts of health care practitioners are part of that transaction, including terms regarding whether the contracts continue without revision. Once the sale is finalized, employed staff will be notified as to the status of their existing contracts.

As a contracted employee of a hospital X- if that hospital is bought by another system (ie UPMC, AHN).  Is my contract with Hospital X terminated and the purchasing system has to have me sign new contract?
