Take advantage of a range of self-study and faculty-led courses through AAPL's Interact Distance Education program. PAMED members are eligible for a 20 percent tuition discount off the AAPL member price for self-study courses.

See a complete list of available topics at and then contact Leslie Howell at to learn how to purchase your self-study course(s) at discounted prices.

The nearly 60 self-study courses are taken and completed at your convenience — they do not require a scheduled date. Once purchased, a course is available to you for a full year.
Popular topics include change management, decision making, health law, health care finance, health information technology, quality of care, communications, and integrating the clinical team. The courses, ranging from 1.5 to 18 CME credits, are led by more than 50 expert faculty members.

The three faculty-led online courses are held at scheduled times over several weeks. You watch the lectures at your convenience on your computer or mobile device and then participate in the scheduled discussions. The courses include

  • Managing Physician Performance,
  • Techniques of Financial Decision Making, and
  • Three Faces of Quality (24 credits each).

CME, CPE and Graduate Credits

All courses offer CME credit. Most online courses qualify for credit toward the CPE designation and for AAPL's master's degree programs with Carnegie Mellon University, Thomas Jefferson University, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and University of Southern California.
