Physicians Elected to Pennsylvania Medical Society Board for 2020-21

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Oct. 27, 2020) – The Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) elected the following physicians to its board of trustees during last weekend’s annual meeting, which was held virtually due to COVID-19 precautions:
 
  • F. Wilson Jackson, MD, a gastroenterologist from Mechanicsburg, Pa., will serve a one-year term as Vice President. After another 1-year term as President-Elect, Dr. Jackson will be sworn in as the 173rd President of PAMED in January 2023.
  • John J. Pagan, MD, a general surgeon from Sellersville, Pa., will serve a one-year term as the Speaker of PAMED’s House of Delegates.
  • Todd M. Hertzberg, MD, a diagnostic radiologist from Pittsburgh, serve a one-year term as Vice Speaker of PAMED’s House of Delegates.
  • Mark A. Lopatin, MD, a rheumatologist from Jamison, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the Second District Trustee. In this position, Dr. Lopatin will represent physicians from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, and Northampton counties.
  • Timothy D. Pelkowski, MD, a sports medicine physician from Erie, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the Eighth District Trustee. In this position, Dr. Pelkowski will represent physicians from Crawford, Erie, Forest, McKean, Mercer, and Warren counties.
  • Mark A. Piasio, MD, an orthopedic surgeon from Du Bois, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the Ninth District Trustee. In this position, Dr. Piasio will represent physicians from Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, Indiana and Venango counties.
  • David Lucas, MD, a cytopathologist from Greensburg, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the 10h District Trustee. In this position, Dr. Lucas will represent physicians from Beaver, Lawrence, and Westmoreland counties.
  • G. Alan Yeasted, MD, an internal medicine physician from Pittsburgh, will serve a four-year term as the 13 District Trustee. In this position, Dr. Yeasted will represent physicians from Allegheny County. 
  • Anis Adnani, a medical student at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Scranton, Pa., will serve a one-year term as the Medical Student Trustee.
  • Cynthia DeMuth, MD, a pediatrician from Hummelstown, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the Primary Care/Pediatrics Trustee.
  • Ahmad Hameed, MD, a psychiatrist from Hershey, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the Psychiatry Trustee.
  • Joseph W. Laskas, DO, a dermatologist from Media, Pa., will serve a four-year term as a Medical Specialty Trustee.
  • Andrew Lutzkanin, III, MD, a family physician from Hershey, Pa., will serve a one-year term as the Early Career Physician Trustee.
  • Mukul L. Parikh, MD, an anesthesiologist from Harrisburg, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the International Medical Graduate Trustee.
  • Raghuveer Puttagunta, MD, a pediatrics resident from Danville, Pa., will serve a one-year term as the Resident/Fellow Trustee.
  • Maria J. Sunseri, MD, a sleep medicine physician from Pittsburgh, will serve a four-year term as a Medical Specialty Trustee.
