Are Insurance Premium Deferrals Available During COVID-19 Emergency?

Last Updated: Jun 3, 2020

Insurance-FileThe Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) has been hearing questions from our members on deferred payment options for health insurance and medical liability insurance premiums during the COVID-19 emergency.

If your practice is interested in exploring deferred payment options, it is recommended that you reach out to your insurance broker to request that they negotiate with your carrier(s) on your behalf. Flexible payment arrangements are often made on a case-by-case basis, but we are hearing of some success stories.

The Glatfelter Agency, PAMED’s partner for a variety of insurance services, will advocate on behalf of their clients. If Glatfelter is your broker, you are encouraged to reach out to them with questions. Learn more about Glatfelter.

Independence Blue Cross is also offering health insurance premium flexibility for fully insured group customers. Get details on IBC’s program.

Additionally, AmeriTrust Group, one of PAMED's Member Savings' Program partners, announced that it has extended its guaranteed renewals program and economic relief payment plan until Sept. 1, 2020.
