New HRSA Program Allows Providers to Be Reimbursed for Underinsured Patients

Last Updated: May 13, 2021

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has a program in place for providers to apply to be reimbursed for COVID-19-related testing, treatment, and vaccine administration fees for uninsured patients. It is now administering a similar program for provider reimbursement of vaccine administration fees for underinsured patients.

To be eligible for reimbursement, the provider must have first submitted the claim to the individual’s health plan for payment and had the claim denied or only partially paid.

Providers can learn more in this HRSA Fact Sheet.
