Be a Grassroots Physician Advocate

Last Updated: Jul 13, 2022

If you want to get involved with grassroots physician advocacy at the national level, the time to get involved is now.

Throw your hat in the ring to become a member of Pennsylvania's delegation to the American Medical Association's House of Delegates (AMA-HOD). Join a diverse group of member physicians from more than 170 medical societies nationwide who form the principal policy-making body of the AMA.

You are eligible to serve on the delegation if you're a member of the AMA and the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED).

Yes, I Want to Be Considered for Pennsylvania's AMA Delegation

How Candidates Are Selected

Here's what happens once you submit your name for consideration:

  1.  The Committee to Nominate will review all candidates and put forward individuals for consideration as candidates.
  2. Physician leaders at the Pennsylvania Medical Society's annual House of Delegates meeting on Oct. 22, 2022 will vote to elect AMA delegates.
  3.  If elected, you will hold a two-year term. Delegates will be expected to attend the annual and interim AMA-HOD meetings held during their term.
