Since 1848, the Pennsylvania Medical Society has been a professional association for the Commonwealth's physicians and physicians in training. As a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, the Pennsylvania Medical Society pursues a broad mission and strives to balance its work relating to patients and public health, medical practice, and public policy.
The idea for LifeGuard originated during a Pennsylvania Medical Society annual Board of Trustees' retreat. The Trustees recognized a need in the medical community, so the identified vision was to create a pathway for physicians who have, for whatever reason, not kept current with their clinical skills.
LifeGuard was implemented by the Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society as a sister program to its Physicians’ Health Programs (PHP).
LifeGuard, a nationally recognized clinical skills assessment program conceptualized and supported by the Pennsylvania Medical Society, is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Massachusetts Medical Society to provide individualized physician competency assessments for physicians in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
LifeGuard employs a custom-designed approach and utilizes numerous assessment tools to measure clinical competence. We understand that each physician has a unique clinical focus that requires a customized approach. That is why LifeGuard provides individualized case management with a focus on objective assessments. We treat each participant with respect, care, and unbiased support and services. Our team of dedicated professionals is here to support you with thorough, timely, and efficient communication.
