I agree with Kim. Where is the outrage?
We should have the PAMED arrange demonstrations from physicians at the capital in Harrisburg and approach the state legislators to reverse this. Mid term elections are less than a year away and they may listen to us..
Should also educate the public that the physician shortage in PA will become worse as no one will want to start a medical practice in PA.
So, why is there ZERO chatter about this from our membership?
Isn't anyone angry, especially those of us who are old enough to have lived through the same scenario before?
It is quite clear that interpretation of the law and of constitutional rights is directly dependent on who is in the power seat in the Third Circuit Court, which favored protecting M-care three times (2017,18,29) and with a change in leadership, but now clearly threw us under the proverbial bus to say that our privately paid med mal surcharges are for the "public" (aka PA Governor and AG) to do with as they please (ie. balace the insane high state budget?).
I guess we can all just keep on being serfs in the feifdom, working to fill up the coiffers of the JUA again just so it can be taken again next year.
I am pretty sure other service industries would have kicked and screamed a "bit" louder than we did (insert sarcasm).
And, just in time for venue shopping and "nuclear verdicts."
