Meet PAMED's Newest Trustees - 2019-20

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) elected the following physicians to its Board of Trustees during its House of Delegates on Oct. 26-27 in Hershey:
 
  • John J. Pagan, MD, a general surgeon from Sellersville, Pa., will serve a one-year term as the Speaker of PAMED’s House of Delegates.
  • Todd M. Hertzberg, MD, a diagnostic radiologist from Pittsburgh, will serve a one-year term as Vice Speaker of PAMED’s House of Delegates.
  • David A. Talenti, MD, a gastroenterologist from Honesdale, Pa., will serve a one-year term as vice president. He will become president-elect in October 2020 and president in October 2021.
  • Lynn M. Lucas-Fehm, MD, a radiologist from Philadelphia, will serve a four-year term as the First District Trustee. In this position, Dr. Lucas-Fehm will represent physicians from Philadelphia County.
  • Chad P. Walker, DO, a rheumatologist from Scranton, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the Third District Trustee. In this position, Dr. Walker will represent physicians from Carbon, Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, and Wayne counties.
  • Michael W. Best, MD, an anesthesiologist who works in Orwigsburg, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the Fourth District Trustee. In this position, Dr. Best will represent physicians from Snyder, Columbia, Northumberland, Montour, and Schuylkill counties.
  • Maria C. Escano, MD, a trauma surgeon and surgical intensivist practicing in Wilkes Barre, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the 12th District Trustee. In this position, Dr. Escano will represent physicians from Bradford, Susquehanna, Sullivan, Wyoming, and Luzerne counties.
  • Madalyn Schaefgen, MD, a family medicine physician from Allentown, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the Primary Care Trustee.
  • John P. Williams, MD, an anesthesiologist from Pittsburgh, will serve a four-year term as a Hospital-Based Trustee.
  • Jeffrey M. Farma, MD, a surgical oncologist from Philadelphia, will serve a four-year term as Surgical Specialty Trustee.
  • Edward P. Balaban, DO, a hematologist/oncologist from State College, Pa., will serve a four-year term as the At-Large Specialties Trustee.
  • Sherry L. Blumenthal, MD, an OB/GYN from Montgomery County, Pa., who will serve a four-year term as the Women Physicians Section Trustee.
  • Andrew Lutzkanin, III, MD, a family physician from Hershey, Pa., who will serve a one-year term as the Early Career Physician Trustee.
  • Gillian R. Naro, a medical student at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pa., who will serve a one-year term as the Medical Student Trustee.
