The following white paper was submitted on Feb. 4, 2020 by the Pennsylvania Medical Society’s (PAMED) Women Physicians Section, It was created per a 2018 PAMED House of Delegates request to study the issue of maternity leave. Please note that it does necessarily reflect PAMED policy.
The white paper includes information on outcomes/benefits of paid maternity leave, impacts of maternity leave on female physicians, maternity leave policies from other businesses, and more.
