A Word on the COVID-19 Mu Variant

While the COVID-19 Mu variant has been widely discussed in the media, neither the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) nor the World Health Organization (WHO) have published much other than the WHO identifying Mu’s status (of interest) on their website. It is the fifth coronavirus variant the WHO is monitoring.

On Friday, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease and White House Chief Medical Advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci, stated that they are taking the Mu variant seriously, but he does not consider it an immediate threat.
