PAMED Medical Student Debate - 2018

Students from several Pennsylvania medical schools participated in the Pennsylvania Medical Society's annual health care debates on Oct. 27, 2018, at the House of Delegates in Hershey.

The debate was open to students from any school in the commonwealth. Students from the following schools signed up to participate: Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Jefferson Medical College, Penn State College of Medicine, and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Students debated the three topics below in the following videos:

  • Is the Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, and JP Morgan joint healthcare venture good for the healthcare industry?
  • Do direct-to-consumer prescription drug ads have a positive impact on patient outcomes?
  • Should physicians be able to prescribe medical marijuana as a treatment?
