Lawrence John, MD Challenge
During his PAMED presidency, Dr. John has proven to be an impactful physician leader. He:
- Encouraged dialogue on physician wellness and burnout by presenting at county medical societies and health systems throughout the state.
- Voiced PAMED positions on a variety of COVID-19 topics, including temporary medical liability immunity, equal access for all physicians to PPE and other resources, and increased reimbursement for telemedicine.
- Educated news reporters and lawmakers throughout Pennsylvania about issues that impact physicians and patients, including COVID-19, social determinants of health, physician-led team-based care, medical liability, vaccines, prior authorization insurance reform, and removing the stigma of mental health.
- Created a culture of philanthropy to support PAMED, the Foundation and PAMPAC, leading by example with impactful generosity.
