DOH Issues Medical Marijuana Temporary Regulations for Physicians and Practitioners

On June 3, 2017, the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) issued temporary regulations for physicians and other practitioners wishing to participate in the commonwealth’s medical marijuana program. Previous to this, in April 2017, DOH sent out draft regulations for comment. Based upon comments it received, including from the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED), DOH published its revised temporary regulations.

To help clarify a physician’s responsibilities under these regulations, PAMED has prepared a Quick Consult publication with answers to frequently asked questions. PAMED will keep our members informed of any new developments, including the issuance of further temporary regulations.

Please note: The information contained in the Quick Consult is not intended to endorse the legislation or to be construed as legal advice and is for informational purposes only.
