State Society Speaks Up for Physicians

Like most new physicians, Anthony Arlotti, MD, a pediatrician in Mechanicsburg, has a lot of bills.

A few years ago, while shelling out dues, subscriptions, and medical school loan payments, Dr. Arlotti let something slide—his Pennsylvania Medical Society membership.

As the years passed, Dr. Arlotti thought about renewing his membership from time to time, but he didn’t actually go through with it.

Then, things in Harrisburg started to get interesting. A series of bills addressing scope of practice of allied health professionals passed through the General Assembly, as well as a piece of legislation on medical school loan forgiveness.

Dr. Arlotti began to realize that his voice in Harrisburg was silent. So, he decided to rejoin the State Society.

“It’s important for physicians to have that voice. For physicians, like me, who aren’t that involved in the political process, the Pennsylvania Medical Society can be involved for you,” Dr. Arlotti said.

Make your voice heard by joining the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
