(Harrisburg, PA) Allegheny County Medical Society (ACMS) Foundation, in conjunction with The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, is offering a $2,000 scholarship to third- or fourth-year Pennsylvania medical students from Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled full time in an accredited Pennsylvania medical school.
Allegheny County Medical Society’s mission is to provide leadership and advocacy for patients and physicians.
The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society administers the fund for the ACMS Foundation, which encourages physicians to contribute to the scholarship to help area students offset the cost of medical education. In 2004, ACMS Foundation established the scholarship and distributed its first award in 2007.
The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, a nonprofit affiliate of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, sustains the future of medicine in Pennsylvania by providing programs that support medical education, physician health, and excellence in practice.
For an application, contact The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society at (717) 558-7854. The deadline is September 30.
