Meet the President

Emily Daloni, a native of Western Pennsylvania, was born in Westmoreland County. She earned a B.S. in medical technology from the University of Pittsburgh and, while at college, met her future husband Peter. Peter completed his residency at University of Maryland and is now a urologist.

Emily and Peter are the proud parents of four children. Alexis is 27 and has a B.A. in fine arts from NYU. She is currently attending LECOM at Seton Hill in Greensburg. This is the first class for the medical school, and she plans to be an Ob/Gyn. Peter Michael is 24 and is a civil engineer at URS in Hunt Valley, Md. In his spare time, he enjoys competing in mini triathlons. Next is Dominick, who is 18. Dominick is a freshman at Kent State University of Ohio. He speaks Spanish, French, and is studying German. He hopes to obtain a degree in international business affairs. Jack is the youngest of the children at 17. He is a junior at Kennedy Catholic High School and enjoys mathematics and acting.

Emily is also an animal lover and has three dogs and three cats. Many of her friends may remember Tasha, her lab, who unfortunately passed away this past summer. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, fishing, camping, and exercising at the gym.

Emily was first introduced to the Alliance by a friend, Suzanne Leehan. “It was perfect for me,” she says. “I like to volunteer. We’ve always done it as a family. We used to deliver groceries at Thanksgiving. My two little ones rode in the back and the two older kids helped carry the food.”

As president of PMSA, Emily would like to share her passion for volunteerism with all Alliance members. “If we emphasize this aspect of our organization, we will never be in the situation where we’re struggling to find members to work on projects.”

Emily also feels strongly about the 2009 soccer headgear health project. “We need to focus on that for a few years to fully develop its potential,” she says.

Though Emily is easygoing and jovial she does harbor one surprising little secret. “I was on the rifle team in high school,” she explains, “and I’m still a pretty good shot.” No need to worry, however, Alliance members! The only target Emily aims for these days is to meet and exceed her goals as PMSA president.
