Expert Discusses Health System Reform

On Sept. 15, 2009, the Pennsylvania Medical Society hosted a regional leadership summit in conjunction with its September Board of Trustees meeting.

The meeting, held at the Renaissance Philadelphia Hotel Airport, included a presentation by Paul H. Keckley, PhD, executive director of the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions.

Just as he did at the Board's July planning meeting, Keckley spoke candidly about the impact of health system reform.

"Everybody in the system, including Joe Six Pack, is going to make some sacrifices," Keckley said. "Because the model we have is not sustainable."
